Work in progress - Custom Jeans

This ongoing project explores non-traditional denim construction through the design of a custom pair of jeans defined by curved panel pieces, circular pockets, and unconventional seam placement. Instead of relying on standard straight side seams, the garment reimagines structure through curved seams that run along the front of the leg, challenging familiar silhouettes while maintaining wearability.

The design process began with sketching and iterative development, focusing on how curvature could influence both form and movement. From this, I developed a custom pattern, translating the conceptual seam lines into a workable garment structure. The project is currently in the prototyping stage, using muslin fabric to test proportion, fit, and seam flow before committing to final materials.

As a work in progress, this project reflects an interest in pattern cutting as a design tool, using construction itself as a means of visual and structural expression. The prototype stage allows for experimentation and refinement, with future iterations focusing on material choice, detailing, and wear testing.
