Multi-Game Chess Set - AS Level Project

This AS Level project focused on the design and manufacture of a modern chess set that also functions as a storage system for additional games. The aim was to reinterpret a traditional board game through a contemporary aesthetic while integrating practical storage into the design.

The project explored a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, wood and metal turning, sand casting in aluminium and pewter, routing, veneering, and laser cutting. These processes were combined to produce a cohesive final object that balances precision, craftsmanship, and material contrast.
