Leather/Vegan Leathercraft

My leathercraft practice focused on custom pattern making and the production of bespoke, made-to-order pieces, allowing each item to be tailored in form, fit, and function. Designs are developed through hands-on making, with patterns created specifically for each product rather than adapted from existing templates.

After transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, I shifted my practice to working with Piñatex, a plant-based leather alternative made from pineapple leaf fibres. This move reflects a broader interest in ethical material choices and sustainable making, while maintaining the durability, tactility, and craftsmanship associated with traditional leather goods.

This work combines material experimentation, traditional craft techniques, and values-led design, resulting in considered objects that balance function, longevity, and responsibility.
